Community
The Holt Estate 1861 and the Holt Group before that, have a long and proud history of supporting the local community in the Sutherland Shire. Through our generous contributions to the local primary and secondary schools, Bate Bay surf clubs, the Hazelhurst Gallery, the Rainbow Club, the University of Wollongong as well as a range of smaller local community projects and activities in the Kurnell area, we ensure that the Holt family continues its ongoing commitment to improving and contributing to the community in which we belong.
Surf Clubs
The Holt family have been supporting surf clubs in the Bate Bay area for over 20 years. In this time we’ve contributed over $400,000 to helping keep swimmers in the Sutherland shire safe.
Public schools in the Sutherland Shire
For more than ten years, the Holt Estate have been active supporters of the local public schools, providing more than half a million dollars towards library improvements and library services in both primary and secondary schools in the local area.

Rainbow Club
The Rainbow club is a charity that was founded in the Sutherland Shire and has now proudly expanded state-wide to provide their amazing swimming programs to Aussie kids who have disabilities that might otherwise prevent them from taking part. The Holt family have been alongside them, supporting them both financially and in-kind since the beginning.
University of Wollongong
The Holt Estate provides two scholarships a year to students studying environmental science or related degrees at UOW. One for an undergraduate and another for an honours student. The Scholarships have a particular focus on targeting areas of disadvantage, indigenous students and students who originate from the Sutherland Shire.
